Drying the bark
After flowering, the banana palm dies, it is cut down, and the bark is taken off. The banana bark is dried in the sun and pressed with a special technique making the bark more flexible.
The banana bark is recycled and transformed into beautiful authentic baskets, hand-braided by local craftsmen in Indonesia.
